Welcome to my twisted mind.
The horror genre has always fascinated me. There is just something so magical about experiencing something that you do not see in every day life. I really believe that as humans, we're naturally attracted to these things. The mysterious, the strange, and the unknown. It's like how I really need to take a dump on the way home from Jack in the Box, but there's a car accident on the freeway and I'm stuck there, farding myself and pleading to god that I am a good noodle for three hours, just because everyone wants to look at a beep beep mobile being flopped upside down and over like me when I see Sylvain José Gautier walking into the room with his big sexy junk all over the place. ahem
I actually use to be really deeply afraid of the horror genre and anything scary in general. I’m pretty sure it all started when my mom would play horror movies when I was a kid and left my tiny baby brain mentally scarred. I remember being afraid of clowns for the longest time. In middle school, I had this dream of Chuckie hee-heeing in complete darkness and I just wasn't the same after that. Though, things really started picking up when I read Masaaki Nakayama's Fuan no Tane and Junji Ito's works in high school and spiraled from there heehee. Games like Silent Hill 2, Angels of Death, Cat Lady, (my favorite horror games in the whole world!!!), and Breath of the Wild (while not horror, the mysteries lurking in every corner n its world fascinate me) inspired me to make my OWN game. I think it is a powerful thing to interact with a story, and it's always something special when every player has their own unique experience.
I had just gotten RPG Maker during this year's summer steam sale and knew I had to take action. Was wracking my brain for ideas for a game, anything at all.. I couldn't decide on anything!! There was too much I could possibly do!! How could I ever choose.. bah.. I opened my journal on a whim and read through a very old dream I had long ago. I couldn't believe I could dream of such things, and now I want to base my game off of it.
This is a really ambitious project for me, as I've never even used RPG Maker before, I'm not at all experienced in pixel art, I don't know how to code, creating music is foreign to me, etc. but I am determined to learn all of these new things and I believe in challenging myself.
